New & Noteworthy...Lawsuit Moves ForwardBurlington, Vermont - November 28, 2007 A lawsuit against the University of Vermont in connection with a triple-fatal car crash will be allowed to move forward. Theodore Pecor was convicted for causing the crash that killed three men in Johnson back in 2001. Pecor was in a drug treatment program administered by UVM at the time. The family of one of the victims is suing UVM, claiming Pecor crashed because he was drowsy from the medication. UVM is trying to get the lawsuit dismissed for lack of evidence, but a judge ruled that there is evidence that UVM researchers knew the medication caused drowsiness. |
